  1. I am a follower! I love your crafts, and those posts about the birthday party were great! I teach 3rd grade, and I want to incorporate some of your ideas into our end of the year or holiday parties! :D

My favorite holiday tradition is playing Scattergories and making margaritas with my dad, step mom, and sister after we put our little brother (who's seven) to bed on Christmas Eve - Santa likes tequila, apparently. :D

  2. I am a follower. The robot would be so great for my 2 year old son. I got a robot comforter for his new big boy bed and this would go nice with it.

My favorite holiday tradition is going to the Christmas tree farm with the family to cut down a tree and drink hot apple cider. I also love decorating the tree with the kids.

As a child my mom would buy each of us a Christmas ornament every year so that when we moved out we would have ornaments to decorate our tree with! :)

My favorite thing to do around the holidays is take a ride with the family to look at Christmas lights. We play old Christmas songs, have nerdy sing alongs, and it's just perfect :)

Our family tradition is to make a tree. I know it sounds ridiculous but we didn't have a lot of money nor a means of getting a Christmas tree for my daughter's first Christmas. We don't own a car and most bus drivers don't really allow a tree on the bus. ;) I made a little felt Christmas tree which we still have. The following year, I drew a Christmas tree on a big piece of paper and we decorated it ourselves with colored pencils and markers. This year...I am thinking of making a 3-D cardboard or maybe a gingerbread version.

Every year that there is enough snow, my whole family, and some of the neighborhood kids, create a giant snowfort, followed by a giant snowball fight and football in the snow. Afterwards, we return home for hot cocoa and The Christmas Story marathon!

Last year we started a little tradition with our son. On Christmas day we have 2 separate families to see and have to get up early to make it to the first one. Rather than letting our son open up his gifts and rush out of the house without him actually being able to play, we let him open his gifts Christmas Eve.
After he went to sleep in our bed we put up a Christmas tree just for him in his room and put all of his gifts under it. We even strung up lights and put glittery blue stars all over his walls. We woke him up and let him open everything and stay up late. We had to rush to get it all done without getting caught but the look on his face seeing what Santa did made it worth it. I can't wait to do it all over again this year.

I love our Advent calendar. The suspense and fun of it is delightful. I'm thinking of replacing it with a handmade one this year- maybe a tiny mitten theme.
    Thank you!

My favorite tradition has to be 'giant stockings'. Even though my brother and I are adults, I sleep over on Christmas Eve and in the morning we get up super early and wake up my little sister. Then we sneak to the living room, grab our GIANT stockings and run back to my sister's bedroom.

We open our stockings together on her bed, and since my mom makes the best stockings we're entertained for hours! We eat mandarin oranges and candy for breakfast and show off our loot. My mom wraps every single little gift in our giant stockings, and she's the best at finding quirky, funny, cool or useful little gifts that are just so delightful, so it's a lot of fun.

So 'giant stockings' are definitely a tradition I want to carry on with my kids one day. Pocky, plastic turnip earrings, vintage Archie comics, fruit-shaped scented erasers and a pad of colorful paper can be the best parts of Christmas! It proves that presents don't have to be elaborate or expensive to be great!
