Is it Summer Yet? (Oh and it's GIVE AWAY time!)

As I'm nearing my first anniversary of living in LALA-land, I'm thinking back on all the fun/odd times I've had in the last 12 months. If my life were a TV show, right about now it would cut to a series of flashbacks set to some feel good tunes...

...I won't put you through that.

I miss a lot of things about Oklahoma, but I really miss the change of seasons. Don't get me wrong, the weather here is fantastic...pretty much 75 degrees and sunny year round.  But I miss the first crisp day of fall and the leaves turning orange. I miss the snow and ice in the winter, and I definitely miss all the thunderstorms and tornadoes of spring and summer. It really hasn't felt like summer at all here, and I can't remember the last time it rained.

  5. I LOVE Autumn b/c I have an obsession with scarves but not an obsession with freezing temperatures. Haha. Also, my 2 little chihuahuas love running around in and hiding in the leaves. They think you can see their tails sticking out...wagging.

  8. I love summertime...I could spend the rest of my life going barefooted and be happy. It's really warm (translate..HOT!!) here in Texoma right now, and I would take that any day compared to those sub-zero days we had this past winter!!

  9. Hello! This is a tough question. Each season is beautiful. I'll say Fall because I also liked when school began and the weather started cooling again. =)

  10. I follow your blog!! Hmm, my favorite season? My first instinct would have me say summer. But summer really is quite hot, and me and hot definitely don't get along. I hate being hot & sticky...unless there is a beach or pool close by...then I can handle the heat. I think my absolute favorite season would be spring. The start of all things new, beautiful flowers coming up and the anticipation of warmer weather after a long winter. Yep, spring it is.

Thanks for the chance to win! I SO know what I'm picking if I win!!!!

  11. Winter, winter, WINTER!!!!

Umm, I like winter, in case you couldn't tell ;) In this horrible Florida heat all I can do is daydream about the very small reprieve that we call winter (and which most states above us call a mild fall, ha!). I love the cozy sweaters and cute scarves, and seeing my breath in the air. Makes me feel alive!

  12. I think fall is absolutely beautiful. I love the colors of the changing leaves and the cool, brisk air. The fall weather just makes me want to go outdoors. I love fall clothes the best too because you get to wear scarves and cute jackets and boots. I really can't think of a single negative aspect of fall.

  13. Someone recently said S. Calif. only has 3 seasons; fire season, mudslide season, and earthquake season.

Laughs. I was born in winter, and though we don't have much of one here, we had some nice ones in NM. So snow (if I ever get near any) reminds me of my childhood and my dog Scotty plowing up the snow with his black nose under my swing set.

  15. OK, I left the chat to enter! I am now a follower. My favorite season is summer because we get so little of it here in Maine. I look forward to school getting out to spend time with my kids and enjoy the heat that July and August brings.

  16. I also liked living in oklahoma too. The weather is very definite with the changing seasons. With saying that, I would have to say fall because I have the best memories as a kid of playing in the leaves, and seeing the most beautiful coloured trees and leaves.

The crisp breeze at night and our driveway is lined with wonderful colorful trees. You can actually tolerate the temps. That and halloween is so much fun now with an 8 yr old. We were Goth family last year! SO FUN!!!

Thunderstorms roll across the plains, farmer's markets have wonderful fruits and veggies, the air is hot and still with the promise of crisp fall days and apple harvesting season soon to come.

p.s. If you miss the weather, come on up. You're always welcome in the Dakotas.

  27. This giveaway is awesome, lovely!
My favourite season? Spring, hands down. Albeit plenty of our population feel the wrath of hayfever, but I guess I'm one of the lucky few :) . I love how it feels as though I've lasted through the dreary months of winter, and I'm being rewarded with blooming buds, the return of the long forgotten sun, and picnics laying underneath the sun. Cliche, I know, but that's what spring does to me, and you know what, it's so worth it!

  46. Hmmmm... I'm still going to have to go with winter. Not because of the snow but the representation. It doesn't just mean death in my mind. The leaves are gone, some plants and flowers have died, and some animals are slumbering away in their little holes or big. But the fact that it represents a start to a new beginning. Its what leads everything into spring to regrow, to bloom, to awake to the sight of life returning. That's the reason I love winter. Its prepares everything for the spring time. :D

  47. I love fall because for me, it's a new beginning. Although I know people say that about spring, autumn is more of a new beginning for me because it means a brand new school year with brand new kids in my class, a coolness in the air that has been lacking in Texas all blazing summer long, and it means seeing a change in the scenery with the colors I love finally appearing in the trees - if only for a few days.

Thanks for the chance to win! Love your store! :D

  53. Easiest Question Ever!

I am obsessed with Autumn. I believe it is the magical season where everything comes to life even though leaves are falling off the trees, but really is there anything more beautiful than that?
The air is crisp, the weather is perfect, reading outside is a must in Autumn.
Pumpkin carving, jumping in leave piles, apple cider, a nice party outside.

Autumn is the season I fell in love.
Autumn is the season I married who I fell in love with
Autumn is the name I will give my daughter when I have one

    I lovelovelove Autumn!

    My favorite season is FALL....
I know its a lot of peoples favorite as well.
I love the cool breezes, the weekend hay rides just about when it gets dark, the COLORS, and the leaves. I love when its just about to get dark and you feel just so relaxed sitting outside with a light jacket on. I love the decorations and the holidays.
May not be warm outside like the summer, but the fall makes me pretty warm inside: )

  55. I love Fall! But a very specific kind of Fall. Northern California Falls are absolutely the best. There is nothing better than to be surrounded by beautiful mountains, trees everywhere, and for it to be cool and crisp outside...overcast and all. Makes for the perfect time to snuggle in for the night and read a book or enjoy a nice fire. Mmmm....sounds so nice. Now you're making me miss Fall!
